This morning, you will be driven to North Delhi, stopping briefly at Mahatma Gandhi's burial memorial at Rajghat. Glimpsing from there is Shahjahanabad as old Delhi was known when it was founded by the Mughals, between the two most important cities, along with New Delhi. It dates back to the 16th and 18th centuries. It is a walled world, with a mix of old and new buildings, winding lanes and dead-end streets; the sounds of car horns, and the tinkling of rickshaw bells, make it unique. We will visit the Chandi Chowk market, more than 350 years old, which features a mix of people, livelihoods and businesses, busy from mid-morning to evening amidst a distinctly medieval backdrop. One of the major peculiarities of this market is its organization by specialties and the best way to visit it, is to live like a native getting on a rickshaw with their wallahs (drivers).

The tour ends at the historic Jama Masjid Mosque, built in the seventeenth century by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, the largest of its kind in India. Framed by domes and towering minarets it houses thousands of worshippers in its large courtyard during congregational prayers.

We will cross the Yamuna River to Akshardham, a unique center of Hindu culture. This modern complex and its impressive temple were established by the Swaminarayan sect in 2005; with enormous proportions and scope, it displays ten millennia of Indian culture with a religious emphasis.

The Indian Accent restaurant is recommended for lunch today, as it is noted for its inventive cuisine that fuses Indian flavors and traditions with global ingredients and techniques.

The Bhim Vilas Palace displays an excellent collection of miniature paintings of the Mewar school. In another section you will see the Durbar Hall (royal assembly hall) and the unique Crystal Gallery. Nearby you can see the royal collection of antique cars, some of which were custom designed.

The structure now known as Amber Fort was initially a palace complex within the Amber Fort.

The public areas of the City Palace, are defined by elegant courtyards, pavilions and gates around which are located some private museums exhibiting a rich collection of royal memorabilia such as armaments, art, books, carpets, fabrics, paintings and portraits.

Adjacent to the City Palace is the Jantar Mantar observatory - one of the five astronomical observatories built in India by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1728. It is a legacy of the ancient realm of astronomy whose curious implements in shape and size are astonishingly accurate to this day. Despite advances and modernity, astrology continues to exert a profound influence on all aspects of daily life whether in business, marriage, travel, civil and residential construction - just to name a few - as there is an auspicious date and time to be observed for every project.

Return to the resort for breakfast, rest and enjoy the resort.

After lunch, continue to Agra Fort, which is strategically located along a bend in the Yamuna River. Built by three generations of Mughal emperors from the 16th century onwards, it synthesizes strong military fortifications with delicate detailing inside.
