Itinerary

Day 1. March 24 / September 22 Auckland

Arrival in Auckland.

Transfer from the airport to the hotel with English-speaking driver/guide is quoted separately.

Auckland - New Zealand's self-proclaimed "City of Sails", is the country's largest metropolitan area. Resting between the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea, this urban paradise has something for everyone. Surrounded by native bush, rainforests and a wealth of beaches, Auckland is a playground for city connoisseurs and adventure seekers alike. Explore the central museums and galleries on foot or tour one of more than 800 regional national parks to see deserted beaches, waterfalls and native forests.

This afternoon, half-day tour of Auckland, visiting city sights such as the waterfront, the Bay Bridge, and the Parnell and/or Ponsonby shopping area.

Also included is the ascent of the Sky Tower, a 345m tower to enjoy 360' views of the city, its volcanic cones and bays.

Optional (additional cost) Visit to the All Blacks Experience, at the foot of the tower. A 45 minute tour with commentary and explanations of what it's like to be an All Black, and entertaining stories about their life, the culture of the team, and at the end you can try some training activities.

Day 2. 25 March / 23 September Auckland (Wainheke Island)

OPTIONAL: Walk (10-15 minutes - or transfers can be added) to the jetty to board the ferry to Waiheke Island, crossing Auckland's sparkling Waitemata Bay. The crossing takes about 40 minutes, passing other islands in the bay and you are sure to see the sailboats, which give Auckland its name "the city of sails".

Once in Matiatia Bay, Waiheke Island, you will depart on a half-day bus tour to get to know this beautiful island, which has attracted many people from Latin America and Europe who have made it their home. You will visit some vineyards to taste their wines, and in one of them, you will have a two-course lunch with a glass of wine included.

Return to Auckland and transfer to the hotel.

Day 3. 26 March / 24 September Auckland - Rotorua

Travel south from Auckland takes you past the Bombay Hills and into the rolling farmlands and rich dairy pastures of the Waikato. The Bombay Hills mark the outer boundary of the Auckland metropolitan area and it is here that you turn inland towards the center of Waikato.

Once in Waikato, stop at Waitomo to visit the famous subway limestone caves, with their stalagmites and stalactites, and the incredible luminous larvae that look like stars in the sky, during a short subway river cruise at the end of the visit. From there, you will go to the village of Matamata, entry point to the Hobbiton Movie Set, for a guided tour where you will be able to see many things from the movies, including entering a Hobbit house. Lunch included at the Festive Party Marquee.

Continuation to Rotorua, this impressive city of geothermal activity with a rich Maori culture. Its hot springs, geysers and mud pools create a unique landscape. It also offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in Maori culture through shows and traditional villages, making Rotorua a captivating destination in every way.

Day 4. 27 March / 25 September Rotorua

This morning, city tour of Rotorua, visiting the Wai-o-tapu thermal park, the Blue and Green lakes, the Redwoods forest, among other impressive places.

Afternoon at leisure until 15.30h.

This afternoon/evening we will take a group guided tour to Te Puia Thermal Park, where you can see a variety of geothermal activity - boiling mud pools, calderas and geysers including the well-known 20-meter high Pohutu. The center also houses the kiwi bird house where you can observe the country's iconic native bird. You will enjoy a traditional Maori dinner followed by the traditional welcome ceremony, songs, chants, poi and Haka in the impressive Marae (meeting house).

Day 5. 28 March / 26 September Rotorua - Queenstown

Morning transfer to Rotorua airport for flight to Queenstown (via Wellington - not included). Flights to be booked:

- NZ607 Wellington/Queenstown 13.55/15.20

On arrival, meet and greet with your local English-speaking guide and transfer to your hotel, including a tour of Queenstown and the surrounding area.

The drive will take you through the charming gold mining town of Arrowtown, known for its historic architecture and charming stores, and a stop at the famous Bungy Bridge. We have also included a ride on the Skyline Gondola cable car, which will take you to Bobs Peak.

Queenstown is one of the top destinations for visitors to New Zealand. If you come to the region, you will understand why. Located on the shores of pristine Lake Wakatipu, between towering mountain ranges. The landscape of lakes and mountains invites all kinds of adventures. Winter skiing and activities such as bungy jumping, skydiving, canyon swinging, jet skiing, horseback riding and river rafting are available all year round. There are also much quieter options. Enjoy one of the many hiking and walking trails, take scenic tours or indulge in spa treatments, boutique shopping, and exceptional food and wine.

Day 6. March 29 / September 27 Queenstown

Breakfast.

Travel by private minibus along the shores of Lake Wakatipu and through the rolling countryside to Te Anau. After a short break, continue along the spectacular Milford Road alpine route through breathtaking scenery. There is time for photo stops and short hikes along the way. Considered one of the most beautiful drives in the world. Duration approximately 12 hours.

Upon arrival in Milford Sound, embark on a Milford Sound cruise to the Tasman Sea.

Guests will be able to view waterfalls and wildlife and listen to informative commentary from our specialized Nature Guide. They can observe wildlife such as seals, dolphins and penguins. After the cruise, return to Queenstown by coach.

Picnic lunch included on board.

Day 7. March 30 / September 28 Queenstown

Free day in Queenstown.

We recommend some of the following optional local experiences:
- If you are looking for adrenaline, Queenstown offers activities such as bungee jumping at iconic locations such as the Nevis River, Kawarau Bridge or the Ledge.
- For a thrilling water experience, try the famous Shotover Jet, which takes you at high speed through a narrow gorge.
- In addition, you can visit film locations used in movies such as "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" with Dart River Safaris.
- Try a bike ride around its spectacular lakes.
- Queenstown offers a wide range of adrenaline activities such as skydiving, canyoning, white water rafting, quad biking and much more.
- For hiking enthusiasts, we recommend the Routeburn Track, a full-day hike where you can see nature in all its splendor.
- For fine wines and food, visit the region's wineries and restaurants, such as Amisfield, Peregrine, and Gibbston vineyards.

Day 8. 31 March / 29 September Queenstown - Chirstchurch

Breakfast.

Today is a full day's drive - you will cross the island to the East Coast, passing through the Alps region, with stunning mountain views and, if you are lucky, the Aoraki Mount Cook.

Stop in Tekapo for lunch at Angie's House, where you can also try the iconic New Zealand dessert, the Pavlova.

Continue to Christchurch, passing through the Canterbury Plains, before arriving.

Christchurch, a revitalized city, is home to a diverse natural park, open spaces, modern architecture and historic buildings. Christchurch is the gateway to and from the South Island and home to spectacular experiences. Take time to play and discover hidden gems around every corner. This is a city with a thriving technology sector, world-class universities and an innovation ecosystem like no other. A city with a revitalized downtown full of energy, surrounded by the tranquility of nature.
