Itinerary

Day 1 (Sun) | Arrival in Madrid

Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2. (Mon) | Madrid

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning, panoramic tour of the city; we will contemplate its medieval origins as the Arab fortress, visiting the Barrio de la Morería, characterized by the antiquity of its buildings and the flavors of its inns; We will visit the courtly Madrid of the Habsburgs, characterized by Philip II and its Renaissance and Baroque buildings in the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa; we will see the Madrid of the Bourbons and the urban layout of Charles III, the Royal Palace, the Fountain of Cibeles, Neptune and the Puerta de Alcalá; we will admire the works of the s. XIX century works such as the elegant Plaza de Oriente and the Prado Museum; we will know the contemporary Madrid with avenues such as Gran Vía, Paseo de la Castellana, Barrio de Salamanca, Parque del Oeste, commercial and financial areas of Modern Madrid, and the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Afternoon at your disposal.

Day 3. (Tue) | Madrid - Salamanca - Oporto

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure to Salamanca. Free time in this World Heritage university city of great architectural and artistic wealth and departure to the Portuguese border to reach Oporto.

Day 4. (Wed) | Oporto

Breakfast at the hotel.

Panoramic tour of Porto, considered a World Heritage Site, where we will contemplate the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange building and the Church of Santa Clara. Then enjoy a different perspective of the city along the Douro River aboard a cruise and discover the historical heritage by visiting a famous Port Wine Cellar with wine tasting included. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5. (Thu) | Porto - Coimbra - Fatima

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure to Coimbra, home of one of the oldest universities in Europe and cradle of Fado. Free time at leisure. Continuation to Fatima. Center of the Christian Faith and World Pilgrimage Sanctuary with its impressive Basilica and the Cova da Iria, where the Virgin Mary appeared.

The Chapel of Apparitions, heart of the sanctuary, with the tombs of the three little shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. In the evening, possibility to attend the candlelight procession.

Day 6. (Fri) | Fátima - Batalha - Nazaré - Alcobaca - Lisbon

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure to the Monastery of Batalha, a masterpiece of Gothic and Manueline style considered a World Heritage Site. Continue to the picturesque fishing village of Nazaré. Free time and continuation to Alcobaça, with its Gothic church and Cistercian monastery, whose origins date back to the 12th century, and then on to Lisbon. Arrival in the Portuguese capital and accommodation.

Day 7. (Sat) - Lisbon

Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning visit of the city, formerly known as Olissipo, tour through its main squares and avenues, Belem Tower, Jerónimos Monastery (exterior), Monument to the Discoverers... Free afternoon to discover the nostalgic corners of this city, such as the Alfama district, or take the optional excursion to Sintra and Cascais (World Heritage Site). Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8. (Sun) | Lisbon - Mérida - Madrid

Departure to Merida, World Heritage City. Merida, capital of Extremadura, stands out for its rich historical heritage, among which are its well-preserved Roman ruins: the theater, the amphitheater, the Roman bridge...

Free time and continuation to Madrid.
